Staying safe
Your safety comes first. Here are simple ways to protect yourself here and in real life.
Your privacy on the map
We never show your exact address. On Discover, everyone shows only at the city level — the center of the city, not your house. Even if you turn on "use my location," we only use it to find your city.
Protect your info
- Don't share your home address, host family's address, or the kids' full names.
- Don't send money to anyone you met here.
- Don't share your password with anyone — not even a friend.
- Use a strong password. Turn on two-factor login on your email.
Meeting in person
- Meet in a public place first — a café, park, or mall.
- Tell a friend or your host family where you are going.
- Keep your phone charged. Trust your gut — if it feels wrong, leave.
Block someone
Open the person's profile and tap the "…" menu, then Block. They won't see you and you won't see them — anywhere on Au Pair Pro. No one is told when you block someone.
Report a person, post, or comment
Use the "…" menu on any profile, post, or comment and choose Report. Tell us what happened. A real person on our team will read it, usually within a day.
If you are in danger
If you feel unsafe right now, call 911 (USA emergency). You can also call your agency's 24-hour line — they are there to help you.
Please also read our Community Guidelines. Together they keep this space kind and safe.
